Honorary Consul attended the Hellenic MFA's Forum for the business opportunities in Sub-Saharan Africa
The prospects and the business opportunities of Sub-Saharan Africa were presented to Hellene bussiness persons during the forum that was held in Athens by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic and the Hellenic-African Chamber of Commerce & Development.
The Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kenya in the Hellenic Republic, Mrs. Vicky Pantazopoulou attended the event.
The forum was held under the inititiaves of the hellenic presidency of European Union for the development of the economic and political relation of EU-Africa.
The Ambassador Mr. Mihail Christidis, General Director of B' Directorate - General for International Economic Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Hellenic Republlic, refered to the activities that have been made by the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Kenya in the Hellenic Republic with the active support of the Hellenic & Kenyan Government and major associations of the two countries in order to open the promising and dynamic kenyan market to the Hellene business persons.
«We have to deal with a new Africa. The region is developing rapidly, with about 5% GDP's average growth rate in the last decade. It is estimated that up to 2015 the growth rate will reach 6%. We have set Sub Saharan Africa as a priority and we are planning actions to promote extrovert companies», said Mr. Panagiotis Michalos, Secretary General of International Economic Relations of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
