The 33rd Athens Marathon. The Authentic
The Athens Marathon is well known around the world for its epic historic background and profound meaning. The race of November 8th, 2015 also celebrated the 70th anniversary of the United Nations.
In the context of this great event, the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), awarded the Kenyan champion Eliud Kipchoge as the best Male Marathon Runner for 2015 during a celebration held in Athens on November 6th.
Gladys Cherono, also from Kenya, winner of the Berlin Marathon 2015, being a candidate for the award of the best Female Marathon Runner for this year, played a vital role in the impressive lighting ceremony of the Marathon Flame, in Marathon City.
